Construction Insurance

Construction Insurance Information

PIMS Insurance Services provides insurance solutions for property owners and contractors including:

• Property
• Builders Risk
• General Liability
• Contractors Pollution Liability
• Contractors Professional Liability
• Auto (Fleet) Liability
• Excess Liability
• Workers Compensation

PIMS Insurance Services also specializes in Controlled Insurance Programs (CIPs) or “wraps”. CIPs permit owners and general contractors to create safe, successful construction projects.

A CIP, or "wrap" is an insurance program purchased by the owner or contractor on a construction project. The CIP covers contractors on all of their project-related work. This coverage typically includes workers' compensation, general liability, and builders' risk.

PIMS Insurance Services has assisted with the design and implementation of a number of large-scale CIPs. We have created many large wrap programs involving multiple projects to smaller programs that provide coverage for on-going repairs or maintenance of facilities.

PIMS Insurance Services works with Ashton Tiffany to provide personnel necessary to administer all aspects of the CIP, including enrollment of contractors, coordination with insurers, loss control and safety audits, and program accounting.

Advantages of a Controlled Insurance Program:
• Enhanced coverages
• Reduced costs
• Increased safety
• Improved claims handling
• Elimination of uninsured/underinsured contractors
• Ease of insuring completed projects
• Significant reduction in claims disputes
